Dales Tourism is about working together, using local knowledge and deep tourism marketing expertise. It's about targeting the visitors who care about our area, who will visit year-round and spend more.

We promise meaningful collaboration: we'll do the overall marketing and then give you the tools so you can tailor activities to benefit your business. ​We're taking a different approach that we think others will want to follow. Sign up below! 

Here's what we'll do: 

  • Use a year-round calendar of promotional activity, using changing themes to benefit all areas and types of business. You'll get the calendar in advance so you can see how you can benefit, send us information and ideas, and use the promotional angles in your own marketing

  • Weekly articles and blogs to build interest in each area of the Yorkshire Dales and create new reasons to visit - we'll feature your business whenever it's relevant

  • Monthly press releases and features suggestions for journalists and influencers to encourage them to feature the Yorkshire Dales in print and broadcast media
 
  • A love letter to the Yorkshire Dales - a fortnightly newsletter covering our key themes, and some special delights to inspire repeat and regular visitors 
 
  • Re-development of DalesDiscoveries.com to include more area information, different ways to enjoy the Yorkshire Dales, new experiences, accommodation features, and online booking. 
 
  • Focused social media designed to attract and inspire visitors to actually visit the Yorkshire Dales, not just drive traffic to our website or get people to like beautiful photos. We'll aim to feature as many of you as we can.
 
  • Dales Discovery Day special promotion in Spring 2021 to kickstart the new season
 
  • Weekly ways to help you promote your own business - shared hashtags, do-it-now marketing tips, ideas for your own promotional activity, and suggestions for how you can use our marketing activity to benefit your business

  • Low cost access to additional advice, workshops and marketing help

Every activity is designed to attract visitors who'll appreciate the area, spend more, stay longer and visit year-round. The aim is to help you attract more direct bookings and make your business stronger. 

Who can benefit?

Any visitor-facing business such as accommodation, attractions, activities, food & drink, arts & craft businesses in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Nidderdale AONB, and the market towns around the fringes. 

About Dales Tourism

Dales Tourism is a not-for-profit organisation, without any expensive office overheads or staff. Susan Briggs and Amanda Brown have already contributed over £10,000 of their own time and expertise. We'd now like to increase our activities with you as a Partner. Our very supportive and practical Steering Group includes: Steve Amphlett (Vibrant Settle), Amanda Brown (PR), Tim Durham (Wensleydale Experience), Suzanne Mitchell (Bramble Bottom Holidays), Jamie Roberts (Kilnsey Park Estate) and Jonathan Smith (Where2Walk). We're currently looking for a hotelier to join the Steering Group.
