We need your views on marketing the Yorkshire Dales
Did you know that there's no organisation with a specific aim to promote the Yorkshire Dales?
Several organisations promote their parts of the Dales - the local authorities, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty etc but none of them market the Yorkshire Dales as a whole. Visitors don't see the boundaries - they just want to enjoy the beauty.
I'm in the process of re-creating Dales Tourism, to promote the Yorkshire Dales, and offer more support to businesses in the area. New collaborative (with businesses and the organisations mentioned above) promotional activity could increase the length of stay, visitor spend attract more direct visitors and those who're also ready to come off-peak. There's no specific budget for any of this - most of the work I do is voluntary.
I'd like to share some plans with you but before I do, please can I ask you to spare two minutes to answer a few questions?
The idea is to create a stronger visitor economy to benefit everyone. Your views are really important. All responses will be kept in strictest confidence. They will not be shared with anyone else.
